The Island Arts Foundation hosts a two-day music festival this weekend with world-renowned blues musicians Willie Pooch, Wendy Dewitt, the Sean Carney Band and Sir Mack Rice — the man who wrote the classic soul song “Mustang Sally.” The event takes place at Fort Myers Beach Golf Course.
The Foundation announced the concert this morning.
The event starts Saturday at noon with The Smokin’ Torpedoes, International Blues Competition winners Terry Hanck and J.P. Soars, and the “Queen of Boogie Woogie,” Wendy DeWitt. Sir Mack Rice takes the stage at 6 p.m.
The concert returns at 2 p.m. Sunday with Willie Pooch, Ohio’s “Grandfather of Blues.” He’ll be followed by blues virtuoso Harmonica Shaw and the Sean Carney Band.
Tickets are $20 for one day, $25 for both days. Call 218-6064 or go to islandartsfoundation.org.
